Maui Fire July 2024. On wednesday, the fire remains 80% contained and has burned 574 acres with no additional fire growth. The federal bureau of alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives has completed its origin and cause report on the wildfires that destroyed much of lahaina and killed 102.

A wetland restoration project is bringing hope to maui residents who want to honor lahaina’s history and return water to the town after last year’s fires. Cleanup and rebuilding efforts continue after the 2023 wildfire that killed over.
